Free Bird (a poem to make you push your boundaries))

Here, in this cubicle, between the four walls,
my prison decorated with sumptuous dolls.
I lay caught up and trapped
for a secure profession, future mapped.
They think, they can heal
this sickness of my zeal.
Know it well, free bird am I,
For my zenith lies only in the sky.

They are metal, my wings can't be chopped.
They are innate, my dreams can't be mopped.
'bout my future, they discreetly insinuate.
Unaware, they are incapacitate to dictate.
My limitations will cease to exist.
They are right, they try and persist.
Know it well, free bird am I,
For my zenith lies only in the sky.

I have miles to go and ways to mend.
Prepared backbone, not willing to bend.
Barriers will be crossed, rules be defied.
For I am an unconquerable tide.
I have my own path to embrace.
I won't be a pawn in that rat race.
Know it well, free bird am I,
For my zenith lies only in the sky.

Break free open, I will one day.
In my life, I will have the last say.
Intrepidity will achieve the unthinkable.
Perseverance will create  the unstoppable.
Flock open my wings, I will in the sky.
For there is no end to the mighty high.
Know it well, free bird am I,
For my zenith lies only in the sky.
